Meet the Artists: Tai-chi and Chinese Brush Painting Masters Yuan Ping Hu and Shulin Sun
Have you ever wondered how vast landscapes of mountains, rivers, and valleys can be created with ink and water? Or try to imagine what it would be like to move all parts of your body simultaneously and slowly to benefit the body, mind, and spirit?
Award-winning artist Shulin Sun (pen name Chuanshi 川石) will provide a short overview of the long legacy of the Chinese brush painting, show his masterpieces, demonstrate the traditional way of painting with ink and water, and paint innovative landscapes combining Chinese and Western painting skills. Come with questions for Master Sun. 孙树林，笔名川石，从事绘画创作40余年。作品曾多次在国内外展出，并有多幅作品在国际比赛中获大奖。1996年移民美国定居。在绘画创作上不断创新，中西结合，从而形成了自己的艺术风格。
Yuan Ping Hu, a sixth generation Yang’s Style Tai-chi master will introduce the history and holistic benefits of this Chinese Martial Art and demonstrate two routines (a short 8-form and a moderate-length 24-form) of Yang’s Tai-chi. He will answer questions too.
The Zoom online meeting room will open to admit registered participants at 12:45pm (ET) on Thursdays February 25th, 2021 and March 4th, 2021. Each session will start at 1pm.
