THE MACON WRITING CIRCLE is a bi-weekly, inclusive and supportive writing group for people interested in writing work that reflects the African Diaspora. No writing background is required and all genres are welcome. Come once or come many times. We meet every other Thursday at 5:30pm.

Remaining Winter/Spring 2021 dates include: 3/4, 3/11, 4/1, 4/15, 4/29, 5/13, and 5/20.  Note: our 3/18 and 5/27 meetings have been rescheduled to 3/11 and 5/20 respectively.

During each session we’ll hear from a few people about what they’ve been working on and do some in-session free-writing exercises using prompts.  View information about the circle here: tinyurl.com/maconwrites

The Macon Writing Circle is co-facilitated by Shaquan Womack and Sheena Daree Miller. Shaquan is a storyteller and poet from the Bronx, NY who loves to write stories that are rooted in social commentary and depict the Black NYC experience. He aspires to be a published poet, tv writer and independent filmmaker. Sheena oversees the AAHC and is interested in writing experimental and humor essays, profiles, and interviews.

Note: The capacity for this event is 12 participants. Everyone who registers will be sent the link, but only the first 12 people to log-in will be admitted into the room.
