Macon Record Club: Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet
Join fellow music lovers to discuss the meanings and memories of classic albums from the Brooklyn Public Library's Vinyl Collection! We'll be continuing our celebration of hip-hop's fiftieth anniversary by listening to and discussing Public Enemy's revolutionary 1990 album, Fear of a Black Planet.
Take a listen to the abrasive, challenging, and influential sounds of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Terminator X, and the Bomb Squad in full effect, and join the Record Club for an evening of revisiting and reappraisal.
All of the records we'll discuss are part of the Vinyl Collection at the Central Library. You can borrow them with your library card or listen to them at the library's listening station! Please note that all vinyl records must be checked out from and returned at the Central Library.
