Macon Record Club: Jay-Z's The Blueprint
Join fellow music lovers to discuss the meanings and memories of classic albums from the Brooklyn Public Library's Vinyl Collection! We'll be continuing our celebration of hip-hop's fiftieth anniversary by listening to and discussing a Brooklyn classic, Jay-Z's The Blueprint.
The 2001 masterwork, featuring scorching verses on cuts like "Izzo (HOVA)" and "Takeover," as well as archetypal production from Kanye West and Just Blaze, The Blueprint inaugurated a new phase in the career of one of New York's most iconic performers.
Come through this August to discuss its highs and lows!
All of the records we'll discuss are part of the Vinyl Collection at the Central Library. You can borrow them with your library card or listen to them at the library's listening station! Please note that all vinyl records must be checked out from and returned at the Central Library.
