Lunar New Year Special - Lin Shaing Yuan Modern Ink Exhibition 林象元现代水墨画展
Lin Shaing Yuan's modern ink paintings utilize his own inventive semi-automatic techniques of "kneading, folding, spraying, and rubbing." The unique innovation in the composition of his works and the flexible use of colors combine the spirit of traditional Chinese ink painting and special post-modern techniques, breaking through the formal norms of classic landscape imagery while retaining the essence of Chinese art. He takes mountains and rocks as the main axis and uses their components as the central appeal of the painting, changing and reorganizing their Chinese cultural elements to create a modern scene. He absorbs the allure of nature and takes into account tradition and modernity; macro and micro; abstraction and concreteness; complexity and simplification. Through delicate processing, he forms a series of works with a strong and unique personal style. Whether viewed from a distance or up close, his paintings show their delicate charm and magnificent momentum. His works are extremely abstract, but they can still lead us to appreciate specific landscapes without hindrance. He describes the open spaces in nature, which are vast but not empty. They inject new life into ink painting and make the viewers feel spiritual and healed. Lin Shain Yuan used the shape and charm of "mountain" to develop visual effects that were different from traditional ones, attracting the attention of the international painting world. His works have been exhibited and collected in many national art galleries and museums around the world, including the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, where his work has been exhibited twice.
林象元現代水墨繪畫善用了自行創新的”揉摺噴皴”、及拓印等半自動性技法的特殊效果。其作品構圖的獨特創新及顏色靈活的運用，綜合了中國傳統水墨精神，融入後現代特殊技法的策略，突破了傳統山水意象的形式規範，但保留了中國藝術的精髓。 他以山石為主軸，使用山石的元素作為畫面主要訴求，因山石本身即含有中國傳統文化的成份，將之改變重組就出現現代感的局面。他吸取大自然的氣韻，並兼顧了傳統與現代、宏觀與微觀、抽象與具象、複雜與簡化，以及經過細膩的處理而形成一個具有強烈獨特個人風格的系列作品，不管遠看或近觀，均能表現出其細膩的韻味及宏偉的氣勢。他的作品富有極高的抽象性，但仍能毫無阻礙的引領我們欣賞具體的山水情境，描寫自然界空曠的空間，廣大而不空洞，給水墨畫注入了嶄新的生命，也使觀賞者有心靈療愈的作用。 林象元利用「山」的造型及氣韻，開發出有別於傳統的視覺效果，這一發現使他在畫壇上擁有不錯的地位，也受到國際畫壇的重視，作品受到世界多個國家美術館及博物館邀展並館藏，更曾兩度受邀在法國巴黎羅浮宮內展出。
