Join us for a free generative writing workshop led by poet Karl Michael Iglesias, inspired by the work of Natalie Diaz and celebrating the Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home anthology and National Poetry Month. Participants will engage in reading, discussion, and the creation of new poetry, with an opportunity to share their work.
.Karl Michael Iglesias is a Puerto Rican actor, director and writer living in Brooklyn, NY. His poetry can be read in the Florida Review, RHINO, the Brooklyn Review, the Madison Review, the Hong Kong Review and the Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-Day, to name a few. Karl is the author of the poetry collections CATCH A GLOW and The Bounce—both available from Finishing Line Press. @oye414 karlmichaeliglesias.com
Registration is encouraged, but not required to participate.
These programs are presented as part of Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home, a major public humanities initiative taking place across the nation in 2024 and 2025, directed by Library of America and funded with generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Emerson Collective.
