Introduction to Papermaking (in-person workshop)
Wednesday August 25th, 3-4:30 pm EST
In this 1.5 hour outdoor workshop for kids and families, participants will learn the basics of papermaking. The workshop will cover how to pull and couche a sheet, how to use stencils and pulp-paint to embed images and patterns into paper, and how to press and dry sheets. Each participant can expect to walk away from the workshop with roughly 5 sheets of 8.5 x 11” handmade cotton paper.
This workshop will be led by Brooklyn based non-profit, Dieu Donné Paper Mill in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library. Dieu Donné is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to serving established and emerging artists through the collaborative creation of contemporary art using the process of hand papermaking.
