Are you new to grant proposal writing or are want to refresh your skills?

Candid, makers of Foundation Directory Online (FDO), offer this free introduction to writing grant proposals. This training will provide you with an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. In this course you will learn:

  • The basic elements of a proposal
  • The "do's" and "don'ts" of writing and submitting a proposal
  • How to follow up whether the answer is yes or no
  • 30-minute hands-on exercise to develop a proposal outline

At completion, you will understand how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation as well as how and when to follow up with funders after submitting a proposal.

If you want to get started using Foundation Directory Online, visit the Society, Sciences & Technology division at the Central Library for access.

This training is for nonprofit organizations looking for funding. It is not geared to individuals seeking grants. We recommend you take Candid's free one-hour course, Introduction to Finding Grants, before attending to get the most of this program. For more information about this training, click here.
