Here Comes the Rain/There Go the Magnolias

Kaya Nicole presents her first debut of original material, and her second album Here Comes the Rain, There Go the Magnolias going into production early 2023.

Magnolias is a vocal jazz album that explores the intensity of absence and the levity of solace in a twelve-song performance.

The content of the music itself explores the African American tradition derived from sultry vocals accompanying guitar centered music with influences from folk, blues, soul, bebop and even Bossa Nova. The lyrics discuss collective grief and overcoming, as the playfulness of the songs invite tradition to merge with a modern elegy.
