after school middle school STEM & STEAM Virtual Programming

Attention all Middle Schoolers:

This monthly space and astronomy series will have you seeing the universe from the comfort of your home. Explore topics including the Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond, plus NASA Spacecraft and at-home activities that NASA produces.  We’ll also keep you up to date with space news, new research findings with explanations, and you’ll learn how to observe the night sky from Brooklyn, with the help of free phone apps. There will be “take-away” activities to do at home after each session, utilizing existing resources on the web.

This month we're asking what makes a year:

If you can use an iPhone or iPad during the presentation, then you’re in luck!  Download and install the Exoplanet app from the App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/exoplanet/id327702034

You will not need any of the paid upgrades, we will be using the free version together.

If you do not have an iPhone or iPad, but you do have access to a computer or laptop (Mac or PC), you can explore with NASA’s Eyes on Exoplanets.  The instructions below are only for the Exoplanet App, but NASA’s Eyes on Exoplanets does many of the things that the Exoplanet App does: https://eyes.nasa.gov/eyes-on-exoplanets.html

This program is intended for Middle Schoolers..

Advanced registration is required, registration will close one hour before the event. A link with log in information will be shared 24 hours and 1 hour before the start of the program.

This program is part of the Middle School Science series - Click the #MiddleSchoolScience tag for more!
