FREE Medical Billing & E-Records Certification Training
Brooklyn Public Library Adult Learning in partnership with SUNY Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) is now offering FREE 15 week intensive Medical Billing & E-Records. BEOC is administered by New York City College of Technology!
Medical Billing and E-Records helps build careers in the medical and health insurance fields.
Participants in this class must:
*Be highly motivated
*Do extensive hands-on computer work independently
*Complete certification examinations
Upon successful completion:
*Participants will be prepared to take the national certification exam to become a Certified Billing & Coding Specialist.
*Participants will be able to use medical billing software.
*Job placement assistance available.
Certifications to be obtained:
*Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS)
*Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS)
***Note: BPL Adult Learning will reimburse one certified exam (CBCS).
Class Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6pm-9pm and Saturday 10am-1pm
Spring Semester: Feb. - May 2020
Program Length: 15 weeks
Class Location: BEOC - 111 Livingston St., Brooklyn, NY 11201
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
*High School Diploma/HSE equivalency or must obtain your HSE by May 2020 in order to recieve the certification.
*Have an interest in healthcare profession
*18 years of age or older
*US citizen, permanent resident or refugee
*NYS resident for at least one (1) year
*Ability to meet placement test requirements (TABE)
*Low to moderate income
*No more than 33 college credits earned (college degrees are not eligible)
To enroll, RSVP for the registration session at Pacific Library, 25 4th Ave., 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11217.
Sat., Nov. 23rd; 10:30am
A placement test will also be given, so please allow 3.5 hours for the registration session. Late attendees will be turned away, please arrive at least 15 mins. early.
