Film Screening: Miles Davis and Quincy Troupe Live at the Studio Museum in Harlem

Wed, Sep 26 2018
2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Central Library, Dweck Center

BPL Presents film movies

On April 15, 1989, writer and poet Quincy Troupe interviewed Miles Davis at the Studio Museum in Harlem, just a few months before the publication of their co-authored Autobiography of Miles Davis. The interview is the sole time Davis gave a live interview in front of a public audience. In this rarely seen footage from Mr. Troupe’s personal archives, the Jazz legend speaks candidly about race, life and music. Mr. Troupe will introduce the video. (RT approx. 80 min.)

This event will be followed by a 7:30 pm talk with Troupe about the recently re-issued memoir Miles and Me. Separate registration strongly recommended.
