Fabric Designs Techniques
Join us to learn & have fun while exploring various techniques to create and design your fabulous fabrics. You will have the option to make items to wear and to adorn your home. Your unique designs will be easy to achieve, and you will be amazed at your results.
You will also create a portfolio of your samples along with the instructions so that you can continue the process after completing this workshop.
We will be exploring the following techniques:
"Batik" is the technique of using a resist applied to the fabric to create a design
"Ice Dyeing" uses ice cubes and dye, which will generate unique colors & patterns on your fabric
"Fabric Marbling" with surprise ingredients used!
Our nine sessions will include:
Session 1: Will include a slide presentation of projects and supplies needed to complete the Fabric Design projects. Discussions regarding where to purchase supplies, substitutions for supplies, and any other concerns
Session 2: Batik Technique Demonstration
Session 3: Presentation of all the participants' Batik results
Session 4: Fabric Marbling Demonstration
Session 5: Presentation of all the participants' Marbling results
Session 6: Ice Dyeing Demonstration
Session 7: Presentation of participants' Ice Dyeing results
Session 8: Portfolio Fabric Design Book Demonstration
Session 9: Culmination Event
