Embodying Justice: A Workshop towards Black Movement & Joy in Memory of George Floyd
Embodying Justice with Gabrielle Civil
How can we bring our full, socially marked, embodied selves into the urgent now? At a moment of commemoration, how can we shift, enact, and create change? In this dynamic on-line workshop, we will practice bringing justice into our bodies and into our communities. Inspired by the memory of George Floyd and the words of James Baldwin, Gloria E. Anzaldúa, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr,. Rev. angel Kyodo williams and more, this session will incorporate wise words, writing prompts, and embodied movement exercises. Participants will have a chance to move, write, speak, play, explore and reflect with others. Please wear loose comfortable clothes and have materials for writing. All welcome.
