all ages arts and crafts Chinese Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day with teaching artist Henry Li who will lead participants in painting Chinoiserie-style watercolor featuring pollinators (bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds), with bee-friendly flowers such as lavender or Pride of Madeira (Echium candicans). The 4/23/2022 program is funded by Tangled Bank, a production company founded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Material and Tools we need for the April 23rd class:

1) computer paper, or any art paper(thicker paper are better)

2) a ruler, scissors, paper cutting knife, and cutting board

3) pencil and eraser

4) masking tape, or scotch tape

Pollinators visit flowers to drink nectar or feed off pollen and transport pollen grains as they move from spot to spot. They are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food. They also sustain our ecosystems and produce our natural resources by helping plants reproduce. Without the action of pollinators, our food supply, and surrounding landscapes would collapse.

Additional sessions are scheduled for 2:30pm-4:30pm on 8 Wednesdays: 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8, 6/15, and 6/22, 2022. Registration is required.
