DIY: Ebru Art
In this one-hour workshop, Ms. Damla will teach you all about ebru art. In ebru, we float dyes on the surface of a viscous water solution and drag it around to create patterns. Then, we lay paper or fabric on the surface of the water to set and dye it. This kind of artwork is practiced across many cultures (in Japan it's suminagashi!) but Ms. Damla will be talking about its history in Turkey. Supplies, including carageenan, alum, dyes, fabric, paper and droppers, will be provided to registrants. This is an in-person workshop!
