Learn the basic hand stitches that you could use to stitch fabric together, mend or embroider!

During this virtual workshop, participants will be guided through some basic hand stitches that can be used to stitch fabric together, mend or embroider. The workshop will include introductions to 3 to 5 styles of sewing (depending on the experience level/interest of the people attending)

For this session, you will need:

  • Piece of fabric- something easy to hold and easy to sew on. Felt is recommended for beginners. FABSCRAP has a great selection of scrap fabrics and yarn that you can shop from their website.
  • Needle
  • Yarn- embroidery yarn preferably, but any yarn will work. Make sure that the yarn pass through the eye of the needle.
  • A pair of scissors
  • Needle Threader (Optional)
  • Thimble (Optional)
  • Embroidery Hoop (Optional)- Make sure the fabric is big enough to fit on the hoop.

This workshop will be facilitated by Madhu Rathnasekar and coordinated by FABSCRAP. Madhu Rathnasekar is the creator at Arya Trinkets & Threads.
