Creative Histories: Storytelling through Photography and Video

In this 8-week class series for older adults taught by professional artists Jaimie Warren and Sofia Dixon, participants will capture their unique stories and/or talents using cameras, props, green screens, sets, music, narration & more. The program will conclude with each participant having made at least one video/photo project to be included in a festive community exhibition and screening inspired all by the stories and skills of our class participants.
Students must commit to attending all classes.
The 8 classes will be held as follows on Thursdays from 10:30am-12noon:

About the Artists:
Jaimie Warren is a founder and co-director of Whoop Dee Doo and she teaches regularly in NYC public elementary, middle and high schools. She is a NYFA Fellow in Interdisciplinary Arts and has created educational programming for arts organizations in New York City including The Museum of Modern Art, Pioneer Works, BRIC, Brooklyn Arts Council, and Abrons Art Center.
Sofia Dixon is the co-director of Whoop Dee Doo, and she received a full-tuition scholarship from The Cooper Union. Sofia has worked as a community-engaged artist educator teaching installation design, intergenerational workshop programming, and video directing.
