In this 9-week workshop, we focus each week on a different theme, central to our lived experience of the world. Instructor Ari Satok starts each class by bringing in a piece of writing for us to read and discuss. Participants are then assigned a prompt to write on, focused on their personal experiences. Participants write on the prompt and have ample opportunities to share their writing out loud with fellow classmates. Through this workshop, participants write beautiful pieces about their lives, while also building community with each other as they learn from each other’s stories and wisdom.

Registration required. Please note, once you register for one session, you are automatically registered for the entire 9-week workshop. If you have any questions, please email LClayborn@bklynlibrary.org.

Zoom link will be sent by 10am the morning of the program. The same link can be used for every session.

Hosted by Services for Older Adults. Audience: Older Adults 50+.

Creative Aging programs are made possible with support from the Sills Family Foundation, Jean and Louis Dreyfus Foundation, New York Foundation for Eldercare,  The Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuel Foundation, Apple Bank, celebrating over 25 years in Brooklyn and over 160 years of neighborhood banking in greater New York (Visit applebank.com for more information), and several BPL Friends Groups, private funders, and volunteers.
