Calling all teen writers and poets! Join award-winning poet and author Keisha-Gaye Anderson for an immersive six-week writing workshop open to all high school students in Brooklyn!
Students will:
- learn the elements of poetry
- study the works of noted Brooklyn authors
- build confidence in their writing abilities
- create a professional portfolio of creative writing
- strengthen connection with their peers
- & hone their public speaking skills
At the end of the workshop, students will have the opportunity to read their work to an audience at Macon library!
Sessions will be on Saturdays: October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16, November 23 & December 7
Spots are limited and registration is required!
Keisha-Gaye Anderson is an award-winning poet and author based in Brooklyn, and a former artist in residence at Macon Library. Her books include Gathering the Waters, Everything Is Necessary, and A Spell for Living. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The City College, CUNY. Learn more at www.keishagaye.ink.
