Collage & Landscape Painting
Join us to create a collage and learn how to paint landscapes while socializing and enjoying pleasant conversation! This is a 4-week art series. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced participants.
This is a hybrid program. You can join us either in person or tune in via Zoom. Space is limited and registration is required! Zoom link will be sent by 10am the morning of the program. All supplies will be provided ONLY to in person participants! Virtual participants can purchase art supplies at any art supply store of their choice. Please see Supply List.
Collage:
Oct. 26: Week 1- Understanding the basics of Art & Design. Introduction to the art of making a collage. Participants will develop a creative theme and layout design for their collages using mixed media.
Nov. 2: Week 2- Participants will cut forms and add found items, fabric, photos, and glue elements to the canvas, creating their design.
Landscape Painting:
Nov. 9: Week 3- Participants will lay out the landscape design on canvas. We will mix paint colors that will be used in the landscape painting. The first layer of the design will be applied.
Nov. 16: Week 4- Participants will add dimension to their landscape painting using hightlights, contrast, and shadows. Finishing touches will be added to the painting.
Supply List:
- Kneaded rubber eraser
- 2B pencil
- 9x12 white streched canvas
- 11x14 white or black stretch canvas
- Water spray bottle
- Mixed media (paper any size)
- 1 1/2" paint bruch
- 2 acrylic paint brushes (1) small point (1) medium round point
- Scissors
- Pencil sharpener
- Aleene's Tacky glue
- Elmer's glue stick
- Mod Podge 4oz. (medium gloss or matte)
- Aryclic paint red, blue, yellow, black, and white
- Paper plates and ice cube tray or paint palette
- Paper towels, water jar for brushes
