Coding at Home: Coding Disease
Attention all Middle Schoolers: Learn how to use code to build a scientific model of how a virus spreads with block-based coding tools (available free online)! Using this model “test” different modifications to behavior, environment, or virus characteristics to see how changes affect how a virus spreads. The program will consist of a short lesson on how to use a program called Star Logo Nova, followed by small group work to create your own code and compare models. Participants will be able to access the website after the program for further explanation.
This program will take place over Zoom, and will be recorded. A participation link will be sent to registered participants 24 hours before the program.
