A Contemporary Retelling of Yoruba Mythology

Join BPL in collaboration with MoCADA for the launch of CHRONICLES OF ORI: AN AFRICAN EPIC, the debut book by celebrated artist Harmonia Rosales. This sweeping retelling of the stories of the Orishas is illuminated by 27 original paintings, blending narrative and visual art into a singular experience.

The evening will feature a reading from the book, a conversation with the author (guests to be announced soon), and a book signing and reception to follow. Be among the first to browse and borrow the new book from the Library’s special collection or purchase a copy on site!

About the Author

Harmonia Rosales
Harmonia Rosales is an American artist from Chicago whose work depicts and honors African myths and the diaspora. Her artwork is held in numerous public and private collections across the United States. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
