In her book Radical Acts of Justice, Jocelyn Simonson (Brooklyn Law School) demonstrates the power of collective organizing to dismantle the carceral system and reimagine justice. A former public defender, Jocelyn Simonson is professor of law at Brooklyn Law School and the leading national authority on community bail funds. Her work has been cited by the Supreme Court and discussed in The Atlantic, the New Yorker, and the Associated Press, and she has written for the New York Times, The Nation, n+1, the Washington Post, and others. Radical Acts of Justice (The New Press) is her first book. She lives in New York City.
James Forman Jr. is the J. Skelly Wright Professor of Law at Yale Law School. He teaches criminal law and Access to Law School, a pipeline program serving first-generation and underrepresented minority students from New Haven who wish to pursue a legal career. He is the faculty director of Yale’s Center for Law and Racial Justice and is the author of the Pulitzer Prize–winning Locking Up Our Own.
