BPL Presents Center for Brooklyn History conversations

Across the country, ordinary people are challenging the ideas that prosecutions and prisons make us safer; that public officials charged with maintaining “law and order” are carrying out the will of the people; and that justice requires putting people in cages. In her book Radical Acts of Justice, Jocelyn Simonson (Brooklyn Law School) demonstrates the power of collective organizing to dismantle the carceral system and reimagine justice. Join her in conversation with James Forman Jr. (Yale Law School), as they discuss the lessons from those leading the way that empower us all to take action.

Following the program, join us for a book signing.
