New York Times Bestseller Carlos Hernandez is the author of the critically acclaimed short story collection The Assimilated Cuban's Guide to Quantum Santeria, the novel Sal and Gabi Break the Universe (winner of the 2019 Pura Belpré Award from the American Library Association), and Sal and Gabi Fix the Universe. He's written scores of short stories, poems, and works of drama, usually in the SFF mode, which have found homes in magazines such as Uncanny, Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, and many others. Recently, he's written several comics for Marvel, both in-print and in digital formats, including stories for Miles Morales, Spider Punk, America Chavez, and a three-story arc for the Strange Academy series. By day, Carlos holds the title Professor of English for the City University of New York and is a game enthusiast and designer. He served as the literary curator for the iPhone game Dear Reader, was a writer on the Fool's Gold: Into the Bellowing Wilds roleplaying game, and, most recently, he co-designed the TTRPG Negocios Infernales with his wife, award-winning writer C. S. E. Cooney.
Diana M. Pho is a queer Vietnamese-American independent scholar, playwright, and Hugo Award-winning fiction editor. She has over 15 years of experience in publishing and podcasts, most notably the Tor Publishing Group and Realm Media. Presently, she is Executive Editor at Erewhon Books, acquiring and editing genre-bending and game-changing fiction. Books she has edited have won the Thriller Award, the Ditmar Award, the American Library Association’s Alex Award, the Nebula Award, and a Kirkus Best Book of the Year Selection. Several of her books earned Junior Library Guild Selections, multiple starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, School Library Journal, Shelf Awareness, and Kirkus, and are finalists for the Nebula Award, Lambda Literary Award, Shirley Jackson Award, and Andre Norton Award for Young Adult. Diana herself is a two-time finalist for the Ignyte Award, a finalist for the Locus Award, and a Hugo Award recipient for Best Editor, Long-Form, one of the most prestigious honors in the field of speculative fiction.
