This workshop will explore the history of collective care and mutual aid during times of planned shrinkage, austerity cuts, and recession. Grounded in the Principles of Solidarity Economies and historical examples such as the queer community during the AIDS crisis and the Free Breakfast Program of the Black Panthers, this session will be centered around how we can meet the moment and collectively build lasting communities of care.
"G-REBELS is a grassroots organization based out of Brooklyn. Our primary goal is to build solidarity within and among colonized peoples through community action that promotes the education, security, and wellbeing of our communities."
