For many entrepreneurs, the financial aspect of business ownership can be the most intimidating part.

But it doesn’t have to be: business finances are not so different from your personal finances.

Under that premise, this course teaches the fundamentals of business financial management in a way any interested person can understand. By the end of the course, you will understand the basic financial

terms, statements, and calculations that business owners use.

By the end of this course, you will have:

• Understood the basic business financial terms (e.g. profit, cost-of-goods-sold, gross margin, cash

flow)

• Worked with basic financial statements (i.e. income statements, balance sheets, cash flow

statements)

• Define the difference your business’s start-up and operating expenses

• Calculated gross margins, break-even points, and profit goals for a sample business
