The Brownsville Branch's Youth Council has organized the 2nd Brownsville: Game On! tournaments to engage the community in friendly competition through virtual and real basketball at Howard Playground (next to the Brownsville Branch)
11:30am- Tournaments Sign Up
11:30am- Interactive Life-sized Chess Board Creation Begins
12:00pm- Video Game Tournament Begins
12:30pm- Basketball Tournament Begins
1:00pm- Human Chess Games Begin
1:00pm- Gymstar Recreation Excercise Demos
1:30-2:30pm- Lunch Served (Downstairs in the library)
3:00pm- Video Game Tournament Ends
3:30pm- Basketball Tournaments End
3:30-4:00pm- Bouncing Bengals Demo Show
(3:30-4:30- Lunch for Basketball Players Served)
4:00pm- Awards Ceremony and Raffle Prizes
This year we've partnered with GymStar Recreation to bring healthy exercise demos to gamers, b-ball players, and audiences of every age. The returning double-dutch skills of the Brownsville Collaborative Middle School's Bouncing Bengals will be a sure crowd pleaser. Local community resources will also table the event and families will have a chance at the raffle prizes when they play board games together (Human Chess, anyone?).
