Join us for a brain-building program on Zoom for children 0-3 years and their parents or caregivers from Brooklyn. Families will enjoy stories and activities designed to encourage brain development and early learning practices. Each week we will read books, sing songs, and do singing and fun movement activities that promote language development, social-emotional skills, and more. Prepare your child for Pre-K with us!
Each week, we will explore a different theme: READING, TALKING, SINGING, PLAYING, MOVEMENT, and EMOTIONS. Parents and caregivers will learn how to use these practices to develop their children’s oral language and pre-reading skills. Families will also receive FREE books, toys and learning materials, available for pickup at the Saratoga Branch as a part of our grab-and-go services.
Brain Building at BPL is made possible through support by the Robin Hood Foundation. Additional support for BPL’s First Five Years programs is provided through generous funding from the New York City Council as part of City’s First Readers; The Pinkerton Foundation; Lucille Strider and Robert Myrstad in memory of Adam Strider; Hamond Family Foundation and Terry Mansky; Andrea R. Bozzo & John Martinez; Sagalyn Family Fund; and Ellen Freudenheim & Daniel Wiener. Support is also provided by the Brooklyn Eagles—a group of young and engaged Brooklyn Public Library supporters.
