Native Plants and Animals Relationships: A Botanical Art Class Series for Kids
Join us for a Botanical Art illustration class series! Through guided instruction, demos, and art examples, participants will create artwork related to the theme of plants and animals, merging science with art. Using basic botanical techniques, participants will learn to include key species characteristics for identification, resulting in improved observational skills. Along with information about the species themselves, artwork will be intentional, fostering an awareness of and appreciation for the species that share our urban environment. All materials will be provided. For ages 7-12. Registration required for class series occurring July 7th, 9th, and 11th.
A one-day public exhibit of participants's artwork will take place at the Sunset Park Library on Friday, July 18th.
Donna Miskend is a multimedia artist and educator. Her current body of work is in botanical/natural science illustration. Her professional memberships include the American Society of Botanical Artists, and New York Mycological Society. She is an exhibiting artist, and as an educator. https://www.DonnaMiskend.com
