Borough Park Presents: Drawing and Watercolor for Beginners and Beyond

This program will explore the fundamentals of drawing and the techniques of watercolor painting in order to begin and complete portrait and still life subjects. Participants will explore the work of well-known artists’ drawing and watercolor painting techniques. The instructor will demonstrate how to complete each drawing or painting in specific stages by emphasizing what is key. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and also share their own expertise.
Instructor will provide hand-outs of featured subjects to participants. In order to ensure that individualized attention may be given to each participant, class size will be limited to 16 participants, so please register as soon as possible.
Class will begin on Monday April 17 and will continue on each following Monday, excluding Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day) and Monday, June 19 th (Juneteenth) culminating in an exhibition where the students show off their finished art work on Monday June 26. All classes and the culminating event will be offered in the library from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Some supplies are provided by the library on a first come, first served basis.
