Booklyn Zine Jam at the Library!
We love making zines anywhere, but doing so in public libraries is especially meaningful.
Zines are accessible tools for literacy, storytelling, and community connection. By hosting Zine Jams in libraries, we help shift them from places where information is consumed to places where it’s created—where patrons become authors, not just readers.
Zine Jams are free, drop-in workshops for ages 5+, led by Booklyn, Inc. educators. With visual, tactile, and writing prompts, anyone can make a zine. Free copies of our Abridged Education Manual are available at every event.
This program was made possible in part by funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the New York City Council.
