book discussion

**Due to tonight's soggy weather forecast, we are postponing the book discussion.  It will now take place on June 27.  We apologize for the inconvenience.**

We're partnering with Domino Park and taking the book group out of the library!

Join us near the site of the old Domino Sugar Refinery for a discussion of The Rise and Fall of the Sugar King by local historian Geoffrey Cobb. The book’s main narrative centers around the sugar empire built by Henry Osborne Havemeyer on Kent Avenue, which eventually became the Domino Refinery. It is a tale of crime, greed, and corruption, but also the story of Williamsburg itself.

Geoffrey Cobb will be on hand to answer your questions and take part in the discussion.

Meet at Domino Park by the Screw Conveyers near Tacocina.

The Williamsburgh Branch has copies of the book to borrow with a library card.  Please stop in at the front desk and ask for one.
