Book Adventures: Exploring Sound and Musical Instruments
Come listen to a story and do a corresponding craft! This week we’ll be reading Building an Orchestra of Hope: How Favio Chavez Taught Children to Make Music from Trash by Carmen Olivier and illustrated by Luisa Uribe. Afterwards we’ll be looking at the Kalimba (or 'thumb pianos') in our Community Gallery and making our own castanets from bottle caps.
This is a Collection Connections program where we explore unique objects from the Brooklyn Children's Museum in our new Community Gallery!
Collections Connections, in partnership with Brooklyn Children's Museum, is made possible due to generous funding from The Charles H. Revson Foundation. Learn how you can visit this and other museums for free with Culture Pass.
