What sights and sounds can we discover in the park?

presented by Janella Watson, researcher and educator

Learn how sensory exploration helps build baby's brains through hands-on activities, plus take home books to keep and a free Curiosity Kit to support learning at home. This session is for babies and toddlers ages 0-3 and their caregivers!

The Big Question is a free series hosted by Adams Street Library and Walt Whitman Library, in collaboration with Brooklyn Book Bodega. At six individual sessions from April-June, experts will present interactive workshops designed to answer some of life’s biggest questions. Children will also take home books about what they learned to build their home libraries. Visit our Event Series page for more information and to sign up for future sessions.

This program will take place in Commodore Barry Park; we recommend bringing a blanket to sit on.

Rain location: Adams Street Library. Register to save your spot and be informed if the location changes to a virtual platform or the rain location.

Drawing on 20 years as a researcher and practitioner in children’s museums and science centers, Janella Watson partners with cultural institutions, edtech companies and children’s media brands to create content and experiences for families that center equity, engender a sense of belonging, and spark joy. Her current clients include Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Evolved Play, Imagine Entertainment, and the Ultimate Playbook. She has deepened her commitment to the arts and her connection to community by serving as board chair for AS220, a grassroots arts organization in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island, where she lives, works, and plays with her husband and her curious and kind kid.
