BCAP at Home Virtual Programming

Animal Stories of the Yard

We will share some of our favorite animal tales of the Yard, and then go live to Thyra Heder's studio at the Brooklyn Navy Yard where she illustrates and writes children's books. Inspired by her book FraidyZoo, she will show us how we can make a creative animal mask using things we have around the house!

You can add FraidyZoo and more of Thyra's books to your Brooklyn Public Library Booklist here.

Explore the science, industry, and the history of Brooklyn with our friends at Turnstile Tours at the Brooklyn Navy yard. Each morning we’ll join a live visit to learn about the industrial backbone of Brooklyn, from ship yards to factories!

This program will be hosted on Zoom, you will need a Zoom account to attend. Please note, this event will be recorded, if you turn your camera on your face may be recorded on screen.

A link to this event will be shared with registered participants one hour before the program begins. Please register for each event to participate!

Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program is made possible by major leadership support from the Martha A. Rubin Fund, as well as generous support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Novack Family Foundation and the Brooklyn Eagles - a group of young and engaged supporters of Brooklyn Public Library.
