author talks

Park Slope Library in partnership with Good Neighbors of Park Slope welcome you to an author talk by Clifford Rosenthal on Community Capital: Race, Equity, and the Credit Union Movement.

Michael McCray, a renowned whistle-blower, led an unprecedented court challenge to the unjust federal termination of his fraternity’s Kappa Alpha Psi Federal Credit Union. Community Capital: Race, Equity, and the Credit Union Movement is the inside story of this landmark KAPFCU v NCUA federal court case. These stories will inspire all those working to fulfill the promise of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the financial system.

Mr. Rosenthal cofounded and for two decades helped lead the CDFI movement. As CEO of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and later as the first director of the Office of Financial Empowerment of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, he devoted his career to bringing financial services to low-income and minority communities.
