Brooklyn is renowned as a place with a vibrant artistic presence.  A place where talented people from all over come to create, experiment and nurture their ideas.  In her book, Dr. Myrah Brown Green introduces us to 129 African-American artists who all have a connection to Brooklyn.  From WPA era artists to those working today, she will discuss how Brooklyn has affected and influenced their development, and how they have contributed to the artistic legacy of this gifted community.

Their will be a reception beginning at 6:30.  The lecture will begin promptly at 7:00.
