Greetings, Fellow Graphic Novel Enthusiasts! AiHGNBC is back and now meeting the last Saturday of every month at the Park Slope Library.
So whether you only read Graphic Novels or haven't picked up a comic since the Sunday funnies, this club's for you! You don't have to read all texts listed below, but come ready to engage regardless. If wait times for books are long, we don't mind if you use your other library cards to procure books. We spread library love: it's the Brooklyn way.
This Month: We're looking at familiar stories and ideas but from new perspectives. Below are a few graphic novels to sample from. You don't have to read all (or any) but come ready to engage with a bit of banter, or suggestions for more titles based on this month's theme. Some of the older/familiar storylines are obvious, but regardless, what things do these texts remind you of?
Jenny Zero: In His Shadow by Brockton McKinney (6 copies available)
Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook by Kareem Abdul Jabbar (2 books available)
Joyama. Volume I by Daniel Isles (8 copies available)
Survival Street by James Asmus (8 copies available)
Funny Creek by Rafael Scavone (10 copies available)
And because there must be cats: Fruits Basket. Volume 1 by Natsuki Takaya (16 copies available)
