Caspar, Johnny, and Gwinny are horrified when their mother, Sally, marries a dreadful step-father with two equally dreadful children, and they all move in together. When their new step-father buys two of the children some very unusual chemistry sets and Sally disappears, all five children must work together to resolve the situation.
