Join us every Wednesday at 7 PM for a collection of animated shorts curated by Adult Services Librarian Valeriya Kiselyer. Today features three animated shorts.
Please keep in mind that although these are cartoons, they were written with an adult audience in mind. Parents may want to preview the offerings to make sure if they are appropriate for their children to watch on their own or with parental guidance.
The first animation is The Gift. The Gift tells the story of a boy who would rather spend his time indoors playing videogames instead of discovering what’s waiting outside. One day his Mum decides to get a little surprise for her son, which makes it hard for him to concentrate on his video game any longer.
Be sure to stay for the surprise at the end.
Our second animated short is "Wedding cake" - by Viola Baier. Wedding Cake is an animation without dialog so people with all manner of proficiency in English can enjoy it equally. In Wedding Cake the marzipan couple on top of a wedding cake live out their married life together. Please keep in mind that although it is a cartoon, it was written with an adult audience in mind.
Our final animated short is A Folded Wish an animation without dialog so people with all manner of proficiency in English can enjoy it equally. A Folded Wish is about a pair of twin sisters who attempt to fold a thousand origami cranes in hopes to recover from a fatal disease. Please note that although this is an animated short, the material is aimed at a mature audience.
