2017 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize Reading & Conversation
PLEASE NOTE this event will be held at Brooklyn Historical Society, located at 128 Pierrepont Street (corner of Clinton Street).
Join us in celebrating the three shortlisted nonfiction books for the 2017 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize, presented by the Brooklyn Eagles. This year’s selections tackle urgent social, political, and artistic questions and represent the library's ideals as an inclusive space for the borough's diverse community. David Grann, author of Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, and Kim Phillips-Fein, author of Fear City: New York's Fiscal Crisis and the Rise of Austerity Politics, will be in attendance, with Janai Nelson, who will present Richard Rothstein's The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America.
The evening will include readings from the shortlist, followed by open conversation and a light reception sponsored by Sixpoint Brewery. Longlists of titles and more information about the BPL Literary Prize can be found here.
