Our New York: Collaging an Archive of The City That Raised Us

Join filmmaker Ashley Cervantes del Carmen for the second session of this two-part storytelling and collage workshop series!

Building on the stories, photographs, and memories shared in Part One, participants will create mixed-media collages in a welcoming, hands-on environment that centers self-expression, storytelling, and community building. Through a combination of personal materials and provided art supplies, participants will transform memories into visual narratives that celebrate the people, places, and histories that have shaped their lives.

Didn't attend the first session? 

You're still welcome! Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning to continue your project, you'll have the opportunity to reflect on your own memories and create a meaningful collage. If you'd like to incorporate personal photographs or memorabilia into your artwork, please bring copies of your photos or documents rather than originals.

No prior art experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided!
