Free & Open StudioSonic Sciences (F.O.S.S.S.): A Six-Week Music Production Intensive

FREE & OPEN STUDIOSONIC SCIENCES

Apply for FREE & OPEN STUDIOSONIC SCIENCES, a six-week intensive with hands-on guidance from instructor Carlos Hernandez. Participants will work independently and in small groups to create, produce, and workshop music using computer software. At the end of the series, we’ll celebrate our work with a live performance at Central Library on the evening of Monday, August 10, 2026. Participants will get to contribute to FOSSSIL Vol. 2, a compilation of everyone’s music.

This program is for adults 18+ at all skill levels; no experience necessary. The use of laptops, software, and headphones is on us—just bring a USB drive, a love of sound, and the willingness to show up each week. We’ll meet Monday evenings from July 6 to August 3 at 5:30 pm in Central Library’s Info Commons Lab. Apply online by 11:59pm on Sunday, June 28, 2026. We will inform accepted participants by July 1, 2026
