Celebrating 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and JAŸ-Z's upcoming concerts at Yankee Stadium
Brooklyn Public Library is pleased to introduce the JAŸ-Z30 Limited-Edition Library Card, a special card commemorating a significant milestone in the career of Brooklyn-born artist Shawn "JAŸ-Z" Carter: the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt .
The JAŸ-Z30 Edition follows the 2023 release of The Book of HOV library card series, created in conjunction with The Book of HOV exhibition presented by Brooklyn Public Library and Roc Nation. That series featured 13 limited-edition cards highlighting artwork from JAŸ-Z's studio albums, from Reasonable Doubt through 4:44.
Like the exhibition, the cards reflected Brooklyn Public Library's commitment to showcasing and celebrating the cultural contributions of artists and writers whose work has enriched the history and creative life of Brooklyn, New York City, and beyond.
Over the past three decades, JAŸ-Z's music has helped shape conversations about New York City, entrepreneurship, creative expression, and contemporary culture. As audiences gather this summer for his concerts at Yankee Stadium, Brooklyn Public Library marks the occasion by recognizing the significance of an album that has left a lasting mark on hip-hop and popular culture.
The JAŸ-Z30 Edition card celebrates the enduring legacy of Reasonable Doubt, JAŸ-Z's acclaimed debut album and a landmark recording widely regarded as one of the pioneering works of its era. This album represents key moments in a career that has helped redefine the sound and cultural landscape of the past 30 years.
The limited-edition card will be available at all BPL locations beginning on June 25 and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Filter our location map to find a branch near you with available cards.
