Sneakers for Social Justice: The Capsule Collection

to
Central Library, Youth Wing

Sneakers for Social Justice: The Capsule Collection is a showcase of the iconic "Chuck Taylor" All-Star Converse sneakers specially customized by local high school students who saw art as a tool for social justice and youth empowerment. The students explored social justice issues (personal to them or experienced by others) and creatively translated their viewpoints, ideas and opinions onto the sneakers using a variety of mediums.

Each participant attended three workshops led by the following facilitators to prepare for the customization of the sneakers on display.

Workshop 1 | Sneaker Culture
