Centering Collections: Recent Work at CBH is intended to pull back the curtain on the work done every day here at the CBH. Our collection is made of, among other materials: archival documents, ephemera, maps, photographs, art and artifacts, and oral histories. Our mission is to make these materials available to anyone who is curious about them. But we also aim to be active stewards of our collection by constantly re-assessing it. Whose voices are missing? Can collections be organized in a different way that provides better access, or makes more sense? What stories are still waiting to be told, or need to be retold from a fresh perspective?
Join us as we showcase brand-new additions to our collection, feature materials that have been reorganized, digitized or otherwise refreshed, and share stories from the archives that are just too good to stay on the shelf.
Centering Collections currently features materials from the Fulton Street Trade Card collection, Hotel St. George collection, the painting Nocturne by Simon Dinnerstein, and various Fulton Ferry paintings. You can learn about these collections at the following links:
