Love LEGOs, robotics and teamwork? Then head to a participating Brooklyn Public Library location for Brooklyn Robotics League.
The theme for this year is UNEARTHED. In this hands-on program, kids and teens ages 9–17 will use creative thinking to uncover the past to discover the future while exploring STEM concepts, learning to use the LEGO SPIKE Prime set, and making new friends.
In partnership with NYC First, BPL will host workshops leading up to the big competition on January 24, 2026, at Central Library.
To join a team by Tuesday, October 14, 2025, speak with a staff member at a participating location.
About FIRST LEGO League (FLL)
FLL is built around theme-based challenges to engage youth in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. The foundation of the program is the FIRST Core Values, which emphasize teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce. Students get to:
- Strategize, design, build, program, and test a robot using LEGO technology
- Create innovative solutions for today's challenges as part of their research project
- Develop valuable life skills, including critical thinking, time management, collaboration, and communication, while becoming more confident
