The Dr. Lucille C. Thomas Award for Excellence in Librarianship recognizes a librarian whose contributions advance Brooklyn Public Library’s vision to be both a vital center of knowledge and a leader in traditional and innovative library services.

Tips for Nominating 
  • Staff who are nominated should demonstrate qualifications in each of the listed criteria. Nominators should provide specific examples.
  • Recognition should come from BPL peers, not members of the public.
  • A group of staff may submit a nomination as one single entry.
