Delivering Together

Welcoming NYC Food Delivery Workers into our Spaces

Delivering Together is a Brooklyn Public Library Incubator Project that connects app-based food delivery workers with safe, supportive spaces and essential services at Brooklyn Public Library. Are you a NYC delivery worker? Take our quick anonymous survey — help shape programs and spaces built for you.

At any of BPL's 62 branches across our system, delivery workers can:

  • Take a break indoors
  • Charge phones and use free, fast WiFi
  • Use restrooms and refill water bottles
  • Join free programs that where you can grow your English Language Skills, learn about services that are available for new immigrants, and family fun events like Storytime
  • Sign up for a free BPL Library Card

At 9 select Delivering Together pilot locations, delivery workers can also:

  • Borrow a mini repair kit using your BPL Library Card
  • Access secure bike parking and repair tools
  • Join free workshops on road safety, workers' rights, English language skills, and more

Delivery Workers are an essential artery to the lifeblood of Brooklyn and New York City. BPL is proud to offer a welcoming environment and practical support-- whether you're stopping in for water or to use the restroom or looking for a place to learn something new. This initiative was shaped in partnership with Los Deliveristas Unidios, a movement of app-based delivery workers in New York City, organized by the Workers Justice Project.

Brooklyn Public Library's mobile Bookmobile service will also have bike kits available to borrow with your library card.

Everyone is welcome.
